GENERAL PROVISIONS

The General Contractor shall provide a concrete slab, troweled smooth, flat level to a tolerance of 1/8" in a 10' radius.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The flooring system shall note be delivered, stored or installed until all masonry, painting, plastering, tile and marble work are completed. All mechanical, electrical work shall be completed prior to installation of flooring. The room temperature shall be maintained permanently prior to installation, during and after completion of work at 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit and relative humidity to a range of 40% to 50%. After completion of work the owner/general contractor shall protect the flooring adequately.

MATERIALS

ACOUSTICAL UNDERLAYMENT4 to 6mm thick underlayment to meet 55 to 65 IIC impact insulation class.
STEEL CHANNEL7/16" thick, 1 1/2" wide 20 gauge steel channel with plywood core.
SOUND BOARDS7/16" X 8 1/2" sound board.
ADHESIVEHigh Strength bonding.
FLOORING7/16" thick X 2 1/4" wide X Random Lenght. T&G EM. Oak, Maple, Ash, Cherry and Walnut Hardwood Flooring @ MC of 6% to 8%.
FASTENERS20 gauge 1" staples.
FINISHINGPolyurethane or penetrating wood finishes.

INSTALLATION

  1. Install acoustical underlayment to extend up to wall to the thickness of flooring system.
  2. Install wood steel channels 10" on center along the short dimension of the room.
  3. Install sound boards in between the channels.
  4. Install flooring at right angles to channels using adhesive & staples at each intersection of board & channel. Lay flooring straight & tight, be sure to leave an expansion space of 3/8" minimum, along the perimeter of the rooms and make sure that the base will cover all voids.

FINISHING

After a smooth sanding, apply 3 coats of polyurethane or penetrating wood finish.

NOTE

Perimeter base is a must for FLOATING VERSION and has to be secured on the wall along the perimeter in such a way that the floor can expand and contract freely.

MAINTENANCE

Upon completion of floor installation, the owner or person in charge of the upkeep of the building are to see the areas in which wood floors are installed are adequately ventilated and natural or mechanical air circulation is provided at all times.

GUARANTEE

Any defects arising from faulty materials or workmanship will be corrected free of charge for a period of 2 YEARS.
